Right out of "Blade Runner" . . .

. . . had "Blade Runner" featured any flying saucers.

Lighting fixture or extraterrestrial scout-craft?

Once content to remain outdoors, UFOs can now regularly be seen insolently hovering within homes and restaurants.

The "Redfern Incident"

The image above was sent to me by prolific author and Fortean researcher Nick Redfern, whose father is wholly to blame. Nick was about five years old at the time the photo was taken.

He writes, in part:

He made me a model flying saucer out of balsa wood, an old plastic breakfast-cereal bowl, silver paint, and tripod landing gear from plastic bottle lids. He then hung the Venusian scout-craft on our clothes-line and snapped the picture. You can just see a bit of the clothes-line top right. The picture remained in a cupboard at my dad's house for years, until he brought it over to me a couple of years ago on one of his visits to see us. I think it looks pretty good, and no sign of the wire (or whatever it was) holding it up!

That's the spirit!

It's a relief to discover that someone aside from me has discovered the profound link between UFOs and vacuum cleaners.

If there's anything more inspiring than the unexpected sight of an extraterrestrial mothership floating serenely overhead, it's the sight of said mothership emitting a way-cool neon glow.

The ufonauts tooling around in this one sure know how to bring the bling.
